The problem
Home infrastructure accretes. Every service gets its own box and its own way of being wrong, and nothing tells you when it is.
What I built
A small fleet of Ubuntu hosts behind Caddy with per-host TLS, a Prometheus and Grafana stack watching all of it, managed WiFi, local DNS, and an agent that can act on the house with a vetted set of skills. Changes go through git and a check-then-apply deploy from a laptop.
What I'd do differently
This essay is a draft. Diagrams of the network and the deploy flow would carry this page better than screenshots.
